Tribal Governmental Disputes

The firm has substantial experience in representing tribal governments involved in intratribal and intertribal disputes concerning federal recognition and exercise of governmental responsibilities. This work has included proceedings in tribal courts, before BIA, and in federal court. Through these engagements, the firm has developed some understanding of the complex legal and political circumstances that arise in such situations. Due to the delicate nature of these matters, the names of these tribes (including those in reported decisions) are specifically not mentioned here.
