Exclusive Practice

Nordhaus Law Firm, LLP is one of the oldest law firms in the United States that is dedicated to the representation of American Indian tribes and organizations. Our legal services cover a broad range of areas related to Indian Affairs, including government relations, economic development, casinos, environmental matters, and natural resources. We are skilled negotiators and aggressive litigators with longstanding ties to the New Mexico tribal nations and Indian communities around the United States.

The firm, however, is much more than the list of its accomplishments. At its core, the firm is a collection of talented and energetic individuals who share a common purpose--to seek justice for Indian tribes and their citizens and to promote, protect, and preserve tribal sovereignty, cultures, and resources. This mission has guided the firm ever since its founding in 1979.

Since its inception, the firm has grown selectively, attracting the best people from a wide variety of backgrounds. The firm's size and diversity allow it to provide multifaceted legal services of the highest quality. As a result, the firm is fortunate to have formed long-term relationships and true friendships with our tribal clients--forged by its commitment to tribal sovereignty.

Because of the firm's mission, members, and dedication to tribal sovereignty, the firm is uniquely positioned to accomplish the goals of its tribal clients. The firm is pleased and privileged to share in greater detail some of the specifics of our practice areas and expertise in federal Indian law.
